Florida Southern College
Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center

Working together with Florida Southern College, JSK helped to engineer and permit the site development of this Frank Lloyd Wright designed building.

Using low impact development site materials such as pervious paving, underground stormwater management systems and Florida Friendly landscaping JSK helped to fulfill the College's residential approach to this project.

The services we provided including the following:

  • Civil/Environmental Engineering: complete site development design, preparation of technical standards and specifications project manual; and construction management and administration.

Highland Conserve
Rural Residential Development

This site is within the Gateway Selected Plan (SAP) boundary. A goal of the Gateway SAP is to implement and promote sustainable development practices to support the preservation and restoration of natural systems while achieving the maximum density allowed in the A/RR land use district.

Another goal is to support the implementation of conservation planning principles including the set-aside of land with natural resources and the clustering of housing units and services in rural areas.

The services we provided including the following:

  • Land Use Planning and Zoning: preparation and submission of Level III application with supporting impact assessment statement and site evaluations to Polk County Growth Management.

Lakeland Regional Cancer Center
Lake Crago Canal Roadway Crossing

As part of the City of Lakeland's Recreational Master Plan, JSK worked together with the City and the Lakeland Regional Cancer Center to design, engineer and permit the construction of this jointly funded project.

The project involved installing a culvert crossing over Lake Crago Canal. This canal connects Lake Crago with Lake Parker in north Lakeland and is part of the Lake Hancock regional watershed drainage basin. Project included the permitting of flood plain impacts and mitigation as well as surface water and wetland impacts.

Project included onsite stormwater design for runoff quality and quantity to meet local municipal and water management district design requirements.  Additional water quality requirements were required as the site is located within a FDEP defined impaired water body. 

The services we provided including the following:

  • Civil/Engineering: stormwater and wetland assessments; complete site design, engineering and permitting; preparation of bid document technical standards and specifications project manual.

Polk County - Saddle Creek Fire Station

Engineering services for this project included evaluation of surrounding properties and County right-of-ways to review existing drainage patterns and flooding concerns.

Working within the construction budget, JSK helped to design and permit cost efficient solutions to help address the County's concerns related to their existing right-of-way and surrounding properties.

The services we provided including the following:

  • Civil/Environmental Engineering: complete site development design, preparation of technical standards and specifications project manual.
  • Construction Management: participation in pre bid and pre construction meetings; addenda preparation; answering technical questions; and review of shop drawings.

Gresham Village

JSK CONSULTING, INC.’s services for this project included extending the City of Lakeland’s City Limits to County Line Road, the dividing highway between Hillsborough and Polk County. 

The City annexed 120 +/- acres and applied Community Activity Center (CAC) for the first phase of development, a 185,000 S.F. retail shopping center. It involved working in conjunction with several local regulatory agencies including: City of Lakeland, City of Plant City, Polk County and Hillsborough County, Polk County, and Southwest Water Management District.

The services we provided including the following:

  • Land Planning, Environmental Services, Traffic Study and Site Layout:  Implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to assign appropriate Land Use Designation for projected and sustainable growth of over 7,000 new homes in the Southwest Lakeland Area.

Hightower Professional Park Commercial Development

JSK CONSULTING, Inc. provided complete site development permitting services for this 40,000 square foot, multi-level  commercial development located along US Highway 98 in Lakeland.  The project included a commercial out parcel  along US 98 for future development.  The project involved working together with several local and state regulatory agencies including: the Florida Department of Transportation, City of Lakeland, Polk County Growth Management, Southwest Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Polk County Health Department.

The services we provided include the following:

  • Civil/Environmental Engineering: complete site development design to include: paving, grading and drainage system design and permitting; an on-site  wastewater lift station, gravity sewer collection systems and force main design and permitting; preparation of construction plans and a technical standards and specifications project manual; and construction management and administration.
